Beaches

The beaches on the south coast of the Atlantic Ocean are rated among the most beautiful of France. They are covered with fine sand and are long and wide.

From Village Ocelandes Contis-Plage has the nearest beach. It is a nice, bustling little seaside resort with various restaurants and shops.

The beach of Lit-et-Mixe, called Cap de l’Homy, is more quietly situated.

Lively Mimizan-Plage has beautiful beaches, too. This place is visited by many young people in the summer months.

During the high season the beaches of Contis-Plage, Cap de l’Homy and Mimizan-Plage are guarded. Flags show if swimming could be dangerous because of the powerful surf.
